Privacy Policy
This policy covers the evaluator accounts on play.merzosoftware.com. Merzo Software (Sydney, Australia) handles personal information under the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
- Email address — to verify the account, tell you when it is approved, and send password resets.
- Display name — shown to you in the lobby and to our admins in the approvals list.
- Company (optional) — so we know which organisation is evaluating.
- Gameplay analytics — which demo games you open, when sessions start and end, rounds played and play-money bets and outcomes, the browser and device type, and sign-in times.
- Your confirmations — that you are 18 or older and which version of the Terms of Use you accepted, with the time.
We do not collect phone numbers, postal addresses, payment details or job titles. Balances in the demos are play money and are never linked to real funds.
Why we collect it
- To run the approval process and give approved accounts access to the demo catalogue.
- To understand which games evaluators try and how each game plays, so we can improve them.
- To follow up a demo with the organisation that requested it.
- To keep the service secure: rate limits, sign-in throttling and audit records of admin actions.
How long we keep it
Account details are kept while the account exists. When you ask us to delete the account (below) we remove your name, email address, company and password. Gameplay and sign-in records are kept as aggregate analytics; we remove or anonymise the link to you where the platform supports it. Administrative audit records are append-only and are retained for security; they may include the email address you signed up with. Deletion requests are handled by hand and we will confirm by reply.
Sharing
Your information is not sold and not shared with third parties for their own use. It is stored with our hosting providers (Fly.io in Singapore) and emails are sent through our email provider, both acting only on our instructions. Signup pages use Cloudflare Turnstile to block automated signups; Turnstile receives connection data to make that decision.
Access, correction and deletion
You can ask to see or correct the information we hold, or to delete your account entirely. Reply to any email from us, or write to Chris at Merzo Software — and we will confirm within a few business days. Deletion removes the account and anonymises its analytics rows.
Contact
Questions and complaints go to Chris at Merzo Software via the reply address on any email from play.merzosoftware.com. If you are not satisfied with our response you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
